A short film made by Friends of the Earth
in Belgium, with the help of award winning film director Nic Balthazar is helping
spread the message that politicians must 'Act Now' against climate change.
The launch in November 2008 coincided with a major success for the Big Ask campaign in Europe. The UK now has a climate change law
making it the first country of the world to commit to legally binding cuts in
its greenhouse gas emissions.
More than 6,000 people took part in the recording of the Big Ask-video clip at
Ostende on the Belgian coast. It was the largest event against climate change
ever in Belgium.
The film clip was made possible due to the engagement of volunteers from
Friends of the Earth, and many film industry professionals including Nic
Balthazar, who gave their time for free. Music has been supplied by
Hooverphonic.
